South Africa is home to lots of different shark species that you can dive with in open water. Openwater / Scuba diving with sharks such as Seven Gills, Tiger Sharks, Ragged Tooth Sharks, Blacktips and many more can all be done in South African waters.
Most dives can be done with just your standard open water certification with very few difficulties. Some dives require having an advanced diver certification, this is not a train smash as we can arrange an advanced diver course if you would like to upgrade.
Due to government regulations some shark species like the Great White Shark are not allowed to be dived with in open water. Other options like cage diving exist for these species. However all is not lost just because you have to be in the cage. With prior approval we can arrange that you are allowed to use scuba diving equipment in the cages.
Most qualified scuba divers have dived with sharks with little to no incidents that have been recorded. These people generally travel all over the world to see and experience different sharks.
